After

I just received another paper. This time, manufacturing processes. Those who have read five-point someone, this is the ManPro referred in the book. Again, I didnt do as well as i expected, but then who cares about this stupid subject, in which all you have to do is mug and vomit. But after receiving these two papers, I've suddenly concluded that my minors basically sucked, and did not go 'reasonably ok', as i've mentioned before. But then, this post is not about my minor marks in my minor exams, but about what my friends and i did after the minors!

Now, somehow everyone in my group is feeling stagnated and stuffed up. We just cant take anymore studies, knowledge, education, watever... So preparing for minors was like a very hard fought battle, and we all decided to celebrate the end of these minors by having a 'night-out'. Our party began in the usual style- catching the latest movie, which in this case was VVC's return to direction Eklavya. I found the movie ok, but all my friends, and the ENTIRE theatre hated it. Come to think of it, the movie was stupid and senseless. The only rocking part of the movie was when Boman Irani removed his wig to reveal a very ugly bald!!! It was just too funny. Another good part about the movie was that we were watching it in the front stall, and had loads of fun hearing the 'classy' comments of the very 'sophisticated' group of people sitiing all around us. Anyways, after this wonderful experience we had dinner at Nirula's and then went back to the Insti. We took out our speakers, connected the ipod, and then began 2 hours of crazy salsa!!! I had so much fun teaching ( and watching ) these guys, especially the real couples, who were shy to death. At about 1:30 am, the salsa had to stop, because guard sahib threw us out. Well, we were on the roads, but the speakers were battery operated, so we started there only ( this time normal wild dance, no salsa ). We went on and on till the speakers started sounding nauseous. We saw our watches- 2:30am. The night had just started yaar. And then began what we hadn't done in years- Hide-n-Seek!!!! For one full hour, we relived our childhood. It was an unforgettable hour of stupidity and craziness and running away from wild barking dogs ( IIT has to do something bout this problem, though. There are just too many of them now ). 3:30 am, first signs of sleep showing on our faces. But we didnt stop, it was supposed to be a full night-out after all! So we went to Nescafe, had some coffee and maggi, and started with the ever so classic and ever so boring - Dumb Charades. For 2 straight hours, silliest and the most difficult movies were enacted and guessed in the weirdest possible ways. I was actually titled 'dhokebaaz' for siding with both teams simultaneously. By 5:30 am, our faces appeared like drunkards, and we all decided to get some sleep, as we were all determined to attend the early morning lectures ( which only a couple of people managed, by the way )!

Fun has definitely not stopped since. I have caught up with quite a few movies:
United 93: Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Music and Lyrics: Very romantic, but Hugh Grant is looking terribly old.
Mr. and Mrs. Iyer: Well, lets just say I feel like murdering A for forcing me to watch this.

Well, this is what has happened after the minors. We plan to go to the NSIT festtonight, but lets see whether that works out. Anyways, I have a class now, so please dont mind any spelling mistakes, as I've written this post in super speed. Mega speed actually. Anyways, comment!

Feels Like Home

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, bloggers and non-bloggers, fellow humans, i'm finally writing again... The reason I had not posted for so long was because minors were going on and i was going crazy. The exams went reasonably ok, though i have just received my organic chemistry paper, and lets just say, I'll dump it in an organic pit and let the carbon in the paper decay till eternity. But now i'm having fun ( the details of which will be provided soon ;-) ), and through this post I want to tell you a little bit about why I'm having so much of it!

Now almost everyone of my friends know that I had a rocking time during the first couple of months of college. They also know that after that issues came up with my college friends, things were said, complications became complicated ten fold, and I was, to say the least, unhappy ( for quite a while ). But then, I found new friends in college, people who were like me, and those people are very very special to me now. So in this blog, I'll go on and on about them only. Read on if you want to. Shut your screen if you dont. I wont mind, as I wont find out ;-)

This sounds stupid, but I'd like to introduce you all to my friends in IIT- people because of whom, IIT finally feels like home...

Shaurya: My best friend in college, this guy is probably the only one in our group who knows what he's doing! He is all fun and masti when college is relaxed, and very serious when F seems inevitable... He has always been there when I needed support :-) And as far as I can remember, he has not attended a single morning lecture in 2007.

Ritika: She is the 'monica' of our group ( come on people, if you don't watch friends then you're just sad. Go lock yourself somewhere). anyways, Ritika is strict, organised, disciplined, strict.... I get scolded by her atleast once everyday ;-) But then, she's probably the most selfless person I've ever seen. She manages our studies along with hers, makes sure we're all updated with our work, and goes out of her way to teach us when we all sweat and panic.

Aashish: This guy is thinner than me ( yipeee, somebody actually exists!). He is one of the nicest persons i've ever met, and yes, the lone supporter of my dream. He is a very simple guy indeed, attends all lectures, feels guilty even at the thought of having fun in the middle of exams, finishes homework, has gluestick in his pencil box!!!! But, to say the least, he's a great guy!

Mehak: i feel that she's the 'bacchi' of our group. She is probably the most innocent girl I have ever met. Sincere and hardworking, she has topped the same bloody organic paper! We all tease her every now and then, but obviously we mean none of it. By the way, she's a pretty great dancer as well!

Palka: She, for some very strange reason, calls me a 'bhoot' ! We, on the other hand call her PFP ( Palka from Patiala ). She's an amazing person, brings life and soul to the group, and is horribly scared of the dark and ghosts. And yes, she's a beautiful singer, and an even better friend to one and all!

Arushi: My IIT-salsa partner ( please dont kill me, miss A - my salsa commitment towards you still remains unaltered ), she's a wonderful dancer, and an amzaing person. I would have failed all my physics vivas had she not been there. Must mention, she's a pro in hide-n-seek.

Vani: She's probably the 'rockstar' of the group. Hip and happening, Vani is probably what an IITian should ideally be. She's a great person to hang out with, and makes sure that she has all the fun she possibly can. One day, she might become a superb salsa dancer ( that is, if she stops breaking my finger every now and then )

Nidhi: I dont know why, but somehow we call her 'psycho', though she shows no signs of insanity or madness.

Sidak: All i have to say that this guy will do something great one day! and yes, his uncle is super rich and mega nice ;-)

This is my nice little family in IIT. To all the girls in the group, lets start going out more frequently, this is a golden period of our lives. Guys, get those feet moving in salsa, you suck compared to the girls. Cutting the crap, I love you guys a lot, and hope we remain best friends for life... blah blah ;-)

False Alarm(s)

Those who have a decent idea of the 'mal'functioning of IIT-D know how regularly we are tested by exams. Second semester started hardly a month back and I am already staring at tough times ahead, with minor exams I starting on Feb 13 ( Idiotic bastards! deliberately choosing this week of this month ). Anyways, those who have a decent idea of my functioning know how irregularly I study, and avoid books till water is about 36 feet above my head. So as usual, this thursday afternoon, I found myself bunking EEL-102 ( Introduction to Electrical Engineering ), popularly known as batti (bulb)... Now, the whole of Friday and Saturday morning afternoon evening went by quite peacefully ( lots of phone, lots of TV, zero padhai.... Bliss!!! ), and then SATURDAY NIGHT 10:30 PM my super amazing friends Mr.S and Miss R tell me that there is a QUIZ ( test ) in batti on MONDAY! They somehow completely forgot to tell me this over the past couple of days! Sunday was kind of a blur then, mostly spent staring very carefully and trying to make some sense of fresh pages of a book never opened by me before. Basically, it was a horrible day, and i somehow managed to get something about circuits into my head.

MONDAY , 8 AM :
I enter class, sit in class, take out my book, last minute revision, prof comes, starts teaching, no sign of quiz, continues teaching, goes on teaching, end of class, no quiz! And the most amazing part was that nobody seemed to care, or in other words, nobody expected a quiz. Naturally, S and R have to xplain, and here's what they have to say:
" When someone asked in the previous class whether there was a quiz that day ( thursday ), Sir said there wasn't. So we assumed there's gonna be a quiz today" !!! I am still wondering what on earth went wrong in their heads...

Another very interesting thing happened in the same class. Midway through the lecture, when sir was telling us about something called 'complete response' of some stupid circuit, a very loud cry interrupted the proceedings. Nobody had a clue where the sound came from, but yes, definitely from the other side of the window. It was a very shrieky cry, almost as if a girl was wailing. 5 minutes later, the cry was heard again. And again, and again! Obviously, nobody was studying, the whole thing was just too funny. Now sir got irritated ( he couldn't bear the fact that a stupid cry was getting more attention than his heavenly circuits!), and he shouted:
" Whats all this fuss about, huh? Why are you so bothered by that sound? Its just the building fire alarm!"
WHAT???? thats what half the class shouted. Everyone was shocked and 'alarmed'. There's fire in the building, and we were on the 7th floor, and this man is teaching away to glory! And he kept on teaching. None of us had the guts to say a word. We sat there , silent, while the alarm sounded twice or thrice more during the lecture.... We never found out why the alarm went off in the morning, and guessed there might have been a minor mishap in one of the labs. But we were still quite surprised with whatever happened, and whatever could have happened... What if..?

25+1 Things I Wish To Do Before I Die

Thank you so much siddharth for tagging me, because i've pulled all my little hair thinking of a suitable topic to write my next blog on, and couldn't manage to come up with a single idea. And yes, I am very excited to present my list of things i would love to do before I cant do them.

ALL READERS PLEASE NOTE
:

* I HAVE A HELL LOT OF MONEY BEFORE WRITING THIS POST. INFACT, I CAN PROBABLY PRINT MONEY!
* EXCEPT FOR THE VERY FIRST POINT, NOTHING ELSE IS IN THE ORDER OF PRIORITY. I AM WRITING THIS LIST AS THE POINTS ARE STRIKING MY HEAD.
* I AM NOT EXACTLY IN A JOLLY MOOD RIGHT NOW, WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VIOLENT NATURE OF ONE OR TWO OF MY POINTS. MY APOLOGIES...

So here's my rather stupid, crazy, thoughtful, iditotic, creative, dreamy, weird and impossible list of 25+1 things ( please, do read the whole list):

1. The first thing i would want to do is very private, so i'll not mention it here. why am i writing this? Just to make it clear that there is something i want to do more than anything else in this world, and definitely more than the below mentioned 25 things. Ah! forget it, and enjoy points 2-26!
2. Become the prime minister of India.
3. Become invisible and do bad bad stuff! ( Oye, don't think too much you sick freak )
4. Get married ( I'm serious, i mean i'm definitely getting married before dying )
5. Meet Shahrukh Khan, preferably on KBC!
6. Spend a lot of money gambling in Vegas.
7. Grow wings and fly.
8. Play cricket for India...
9. Dance like HR and Katie ( Salsa ). A good friend of mine assures this is possible. Liar ;-)
10. Break every piece of lab equipment , break every window and door, break all but one professors' teeth of IIT-D.
11. Meet Sachin Tendulkar as well, and assure him that he is the greatest cricketer ever to be born on earth...
12. Study Islam and learn Urdu. ( I'm just very fascinated by the way Muslims worship )
13. Be the supreme court judge.
14. Fight like Neo of the matrix.
15. Go to outer space and realise how inconsequential and small things are.
16. Somehow, revive Einstein for a few days!!!
17. Grow great hair ( like Jessie of Full House, or our very own SRK )
18. Record my own album and force everyone to listen to it.
19. Get my phone recharged to like Rs. 1 crore or something ( basically never give a damn about balance before calling )
20. Have the ability to control weather. ( I get majorly pissed when plans get changed due to rain, and sometimes angry and violent when cricket matches are affected because of the same )
21. Play the lead in a big budget bollywood movie, opposite Kareena or Aishwarya.
22. Write my own book, and win the booker for it or something like that!
23. Visit Europe, in particular Paris.
24. Drive at more than 100 kmph ( I know its pretty much possible, but my mother never lets me do it! )
25. Know atleast a few days beforehand that mere paas waqt bahut kam hai. ( arey bhai, sabko jaadu ki jhappi de doonga na ). But i seriously hope that this happens after a looooong time!
26. Know whether God exists, and figure out what the hell are we doing here! ( Purpose of life and all that rubbish...)

Ok so this is my list. Hope you enjoyed it. Hope you dont think i'm psycho. Hope you think about a few things atleast. Hope you aren't sleeping!
Main aapke comments ka intezaar kar rahaa hoon!
